lately...

Holy Cow, I'm 3 weeks out from my c-section date or less if I go on my own! So, naturally, I've been in high gear since we've moved into the house! I've accomplished alot, but still have a bit to do! I'm hoping to get pictures of the house up in the next 2 weeks. Tomorrow, I will be done with ALL THE TRIM! Did I really say that!? We didn't end up paying someone to do it... Just way too costly after all that we had already done... So, I've been full-boar on that since we got the quote back. So, exactly one month after we've moved in, the trim will be complete! Yippee Skippy!

In between doing the trim, we've** gotten the girls' room painted and pretty much all set up! Kasie and I made a trip to IKEA, I'm pretty much 100% unpacked (deco isn't up, b/c we're still painting). We've got the outside all weeded and the bushes trimmed. Matt has hung new lighting in 5 rooms. We've got our doors in...we're having some trouble with them, so they aren't up or painted.... All new appliances in place. I've spray-painted a few things... ;-) Or should I say, 're-invented' a few things... Gosh, the list could go on, but I will spare you! Some will say I'm nesting, but I say that I'm freaking out, b/c I don't want to think about doing things after I have Amelia. I want all my attention to go to her and Cyd.... So, I want to get a few more things done and I SWEAR I will chill! ;-) promise...really!

**I say 'we've' b/c I've had help! Thank you so much, Kasie! I wouldn't be this far without you for sure! Also, my bible-study girls, Wade, Clarissa, Matt, Tiff, Beth, Chad, Dad, Big Jerry, Lil' Jerry & Dan. All of these folks helped in some way, be it by painting or moving. We appreciate you all more than you know!!!

Ok, I've rambled enough!

Oh, and, by the way... I can't wait to meet my little identical nieces this week! Praying for you Chad & Jennifer!

BIG GIRL BED!

Thinking of transitioning in the next few weeks and I'm not quite sure I'm ready! Amelia is going to need the crib eventually and I don't know if I should do it before or after she is born! I've heard of some horror stories of doing it after... We'll see. Cyd is such a trooper, I don't think she'll have much of a problem... She transitioned to the new house like it was nothing, so we'll see! A new bed is a whole new ball game!

I welcome any advice or suggestions! ;-)

Our New House!

I've been slacking big-time in blogging lately! Sorry! I'm sure not too many of you even noticed! ;-)

Anyways, the following is why I have been such a slacker! I literally work on the house every chance I get. In the last week or two, I've tried my hardest only to do it while Cyd is sleeping. I'm making progress for sure, but I've still got a long way to go! I know that all the hard-work is going to be worth it, but man, I didn't know I could have so many 'melt-downs,' then the next-day just have this renewed sense of energy! Maybe it's that I only have 5 MORE WEEKS left to get it done! Ahh!

So, here's the tour.

This is all the previous owners furniture... Gasp, but we forgot to take pictures of it empty! Picture all this dark wood, white! That's what I've been slaving over! Boy, I didn't know what a process this was going to be! What in the world did I get myself into!?

This is the formal living & dining rooms. If you know us, we're not formal, so this is our living room and Cyd's play room.

We've updated appliances with stainless... It also has an eat-in kitchen, hence the reason the formal dining room is a play room! ;-)

Matt took these pictures awhile back and we just never got around to taking any better ones... I'll make sure I take some good 'after' pics!

We're loving life and the new house already feels like 'home!' Aside from no decorations b/c of all the painting going on! But, home, nonetheless! We feel so incredibly blessed!

34 weeks!

With all the moving business, I missed my 32 week update! I'm going strong! If this house or Cyd doesn't put me into labor, I don't think I'll ever have Amelia! ;-) Actually, if I don't go on my own before September 22, I'm going under the knife again! Ugh... I had an emergency c-section the first go-around, so they always schedule the second a week early. So, come hell or high water, Miss Amelia Jean will be here 9/22/09! I'm so excited, nervous, scared, etc. etc. etc. the list goes on. From adding #2 to the mix, to the surgery, to leaving Cyd for 2-3 days, to how Cyd is going to adjust, to how mom & dad are going to adjust, to nursing, to healing, to .......... this list goes on too! I just can't imagine any of it. I know I've been preggers for 34 weeks, but it still seems SO SURREAL! It's always so scary entering unchartered territory for the first time!

Anyways, here I am at 34 weeks. Large & IN CHARGE, so you better stay out of my way! hahah!

bangs...

Stay tuned. I'm really, really, really going to try hard to get downstairs and upload some pictures of the house and of my little mischievious daughter... Or atleast, she LOOKS mischievious since I CUT HER BANGS! It's very nostalgic, b/c it makes her look so much older and brings a tear to my eye to think that she's pretty much gone through all of her 'baby firsts'! Minus the diapers... But, the bangs, oh the bangs, add a new zest to her personality & look.. I glance at her and have to chuckle!

We also got her a toddler bed (not transitioning yet, just found a heckofadeal!) and she's been asking to sit on the potty.... GASP! Granted, she hasn't done anything on said potty, but it's crazy that she understands to ask for the toilet paper to wipe her womanly parts! hahah! Such a funny kid!

Anyways, have an awesome weekend and I sure do hope to have some posts' that actually contain pictures soon!

crash & burn

Well, I guess it was to be expected... I have officially crashed & burned and had a bit of a breakdown yesterday to prove it. Doing trim is for the birds. Especially, when you're going from dark natural wood to white. I've gotten so far into the project, but I LITERALLY can't think about doing another ounce of it... trim that is. So, I've called in a painter to quote to finish my project! ;-) I feel so ashamed, b/c I was so proud of what I was accomplishing and what we were saving in my doing it, but I've overdone it... physically & mentally. Luckily, my husband is one of the best and is holding my hand in the process without uttering a word of 'failure' or 'cost' or 'I told you so'.... He sat & listened & that's all I needed.

Hopefully, once the trim is done, I can get on with it and start painting the walls. No pressure, one by one and if nothing else gets done before Amelia gets here, then so be it. (I keep telling myself that, but any of you that know me, know that it's going to be a hard feat!;-))

On the bright side, it's looking AWESOME! I'm so excited to see what the final outcome is going to be. It's fun personalizing your home. exhausting, but fun!

In other news. I cut Cyd's bangs! AHHH! Next time, I'm going to let my sister who's a beautician do them! Way shorter than I was hoping, but they'll grow out, right!? ;-) I'll post a picture later. I don't have my camera down here to do it. Sorry!
